The no license, no insurance penalties are assessed separately, and it depends if the officer submitted those penalties to the District Attorney’s Office, and then if the DA decides he’s going to file on them. However, for your first DUI offense in California, you can expect:

    $187 for towing & storage
$156 booking, finger printing, and photo fee
    $100 license reinstatement
    $2,700 car insurance increase
    $480 DUI fine
$816 assessment for the court system
    $44 community service fee
    $100 for DUI Victim’s fund
    $50 toward Alcohol Education Fund
    $1 night court fee
    $550 DUI class
    $20 VUI Victim’s Impact sessions
    $35 time payment charge
    $10 DMV file search charge
    $5,294: TOTAL

I know this includes a projected insurance increase, which the driver will likely not get, but it’s just a rough estimate.

    Also, non-monetary assessed penalties are:

    1 hour in cuffs
    4 hours in jail
    3 hours getting car back
    2 days at the DMV
2 days picking up highway trash
2 nights DUI Victim Impact Panel
    15 weeks DUI class
    4 months without a license
    3 years probation
7 years with 2 points on driving record

**This is assuming no one was injured or killed in the accident. Those offenses obviously carry harsher penalties.

The minimum for 1st time DUI with court costs and penalties in California is $1400 to $1800. With the enhancements for Hit & Run, no insurance and no license, he’s looking at the possibility of a felony conviction, and close to $5000 in fines, plus prison time.
