running from the police would be cheaper than a DUI, correct?

Question by : running from the police would be cheaper than a DUI, correct? I tend to drink and drive a good amount ( I party a lot) I have been since I was 16 and I’m 20 this Saturday. I have even been pulled over with a good 8+ beers in me for going 7 over which is BS but anyway the cop couldn’t detect anything. this past year one of my close friends and roommate got a DUI and I have witnessed all the money, time, classes, probation, etc that he has had to go through. So I was thinking, if I ever was to the point where I KNEW the cop was going to give me a DUI wouldn’t it be much easier, cheaper and funnier if I ran before he even got out of his car? I would most likely be charged with fleeing from a officer or something along those lines and I would have to pay the fee to get my truck out of the impound lot. BUT, all of that is MUCH cheaper than a DUI, not to mention that there would be no felonies involved. I am very interested in hearing your responses and opinions on this matter. I would also like to answer my question for you all who like to leave smart a** answers on these, that way you wont need to waste your time answering this. “you have a drinking problem you should seek help” “dude, your going to kill someone if you keep this up” “you can’t out smart the law” “thinking about things like this will get you no where” “don’t drink and drive its not smart” “don’t drink and drive. smoke and fly!” . there now you will not need to give me a stupid answer icon smile running from the police would be cheaper than a DUI, correct? thanks for reading.
How would I get charged with a DUI if they could not prove that I was drunk before I ran, the scenario would be me running out of my car as soon as I pulled over, they would have no proof I had been drinking. so hypothetically paying the impound lot and what ever consequence comes from “eluding” would be cheaper than sitting in my car and waiting to be charged with a DUI. I have a high tolerance I can run just as fast drunk as I can sober. I would also like to say that I don’t do anything stupid if I drive drunk, such as donuts, racing, speeding, and anything that could jeopardize me or anyone else.
I did say that in my “stupid answers” I said “dude, your going to kill someone if you keep this up” same thing. Some of you are not reading this rite or just don’t understand. I would not flee in my car. I would run, they would not use deadly force, if they caught up to me I would possibly get tasered, pepper sprayed, or tackled which is all non lethal. And I am very confident they would not catch up to me as I am very agile and quick. Fleeing to avoid felony? what felony? if they cant prove I was drunk when I fled than they cant prove I was fleeing a felony, so when I go to get my car the next day and I am sober all I will get charged with is evading. period. there would be NO tie to a DUI. This J is basically a taunt. You suck.

  2. Natty_Dread says:

Just try your idea and you’ll see in no time which is cheaper…

  3. Scott says:

? If you were drunk and ran from the cops, what makes you think you’ll only be charged with fleeing? You get busted for fleeing as well as DUI. I fail to see how it would be cheaper.

  4. Interesting says:

Actually “evading arrest” is what it is called. But if someone were drunk then I would NOT think they could run fast…Just my opinion.
Honestly I do not know how much that would cost. But I have heard DUI’s are expensive.
By the way you are welcome.

  5. laughter_every_day says:

Are you thinking that you can only get convicted of eluding? You moron. You get the DUI conviction AND the Eluding conviction.

  6. RE says:

I like the sound of your plan because it would be more expensive, both in money and jail time served, than simply pulling over, and maybe you would learn a needed lesson before you kill or are killed. I notice that wasn’t on your list of “stupid answers”. I know, I know, you’re just trolling, because nobody could really be as stupid as you pretend to be, but really, what do you get out of it? You must be starved for attention.

Actually, DUI is a felony in many states, and fleeing from police to avoid felony apprehension is usually felony in most states, also.

There is a point where your fleeing might get so dangerous that the police might decide to use deadly force to save the lives of innocent people, and then your fleeing would lose the funny factor.

If you live long enough, you’re going to end up in prison. Fact, not conjecture.
