The International Criminal Court is deliberating whether to issue an arrest warrant for Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. The judges will also discuss if his son Saif and security chief Abdullah al-Sanussi are also to be arrested. Libya does not recognise the authority of the ICC. Meanwhile South African President Jacob Zuma has been meeting the leaders of Mauritania, Mali, Congo Republic and Uganda to discuss Libya ahead of the African Union summit in Equatorial Guinea. … www.euronews.net
@Iraqgenocide2 “Bahrain and Syria have shot plenty of UNARMED cvilians” And if their population rises up against tyranny and is brutally squashed by the military as in Libya, it would be justified to attack those oppressors as well. But the fact that the US doesn’t act in OTHER situations where it should, is NOT a justification of why the US should NOT have acted in this situation. When the US didn’t intervene, people complained that it’s because they want oil. Now that they have – same deal. :/

@Iraqgenocide2 Once people started protesting, he started killing them. Then they fought back. Now “thousands” is an accurate word to describe how many he has killed. It is a factually accurate statement. I said nothing about the society so that’s irrelevant. And when the USA starts using snipers to kill protestors, your criticisms will be valid, and I would fully support an invasion to help any armed rebellion. But until that day it’s an unfair and biased comparison.
@Flyborg Gaddafi didn’t “kill thousands” idiot. In fact he ran a modern society with agriculture engineered in the desert, free schooling & housing. USA is run by far worse dictators and should be invaded since their police state cracks down on protest. Indeed, in those other cases where dictators kill their civilians who dare to demand to be treated like human beings, and force them to fight back, NATO should respond as well. What does that have to do with people equating Gaddafi’s killing of thousands with Obama’s attempt to stop him, as if these are “equal crimes”? As if committing a crime is the same as trying to help stop one?

ICC is now legitimate? Bush called ICC a clown court when it judged his gang of murderers to be criminals for the murder and torture of a million people in Iraq. Now when US/NATO spreads chaos in Libya for Al Qaeda rebels to steal Libya’s oil that’s perfectly acceptable but it’s Gaddafi that’s condemned. But when Gaddafi starts killing people for disagreeing with him, violating all sorts of basic human rights rules, and the rest of the world (including the US) steps in to help STOP this atrocity, it is FACTUALLY inaccurate to compare causing an atrocity with stopping one. @Flyborg , you clearly know nothing about libya, it had free health and education, they could get free grants to study overseas, gaddafi ulocked ancient underground glacial water to make it the first green country on the desert part of the continent, he took a bankrupt country and made it one of the few in the world that are debt free, proving that all the money went to libya and the people, ask them what they did not have, nothing, sure there are some homless, but less than US by percentage.
