Q&A: How can I resolve criminal issue that happened in 1995 in Florida?

Question by Inquiry : How can I resolve criminal issue that happened in 1995 in Florida? I had an incident in Florida in 1995. I got beat up by 6 officers for being in the wrong place and the wrong time. I had just gotten off of work at 1am in the morning and was riding my bike home. In the distance sheriff deputies were administering to a dui. I approach with caution, and for no reason was attacked, they even broke my nose. They were going to let me go but I made the mistake to say I would sue. I paid a lawyer 2500 dollars of my hard worked money to represent my case. He spoke to the deputies and must of been scared of them. After taking my money he didn’t want to fight my case. Hours of of contemplating, and laughing about how they beat me up, they finally decided to charge me with “battery on an officer, and resisting arrest.” It was withheld of adjudicated. I wasn’t guilty and want to know, since it happened in 1995, if I can still fight my case, or sue my lawyer for not representing me as was promised. I have met many people here that encountered the same. Best answer:

Don’t expect any fully investigated answer from us on Answers . . . you HAVE to get a lawyer involved in this. Sorry …

You need to see an attorney with a track record of winning cases against the police. I would pursue it only if I were able to find such an attorney.

Realize that you live in one of the worst states in the nation where the rights of the people have already been stripped away. As soon as possible, get out of that state just don’t go to Georgia, California or Michigan and Colorado is right behind them with all their stupid new laws.

You may want to take this up through the American Civil Liberties Union, http://www.ACLU.org.
