Q&A: What are some laws that USA cops generally ignore or are lenient towards?

Question by The_Reporter : What are some laws that USA cops generally ignore or are lenient towards? for example, I know that the “bikes are not allowed on sidewalks” law is rarely ever enforced. or the “opened but empty alcohol bottles in a car while driving” law is not really enforced because people need to drive their bottles to recyling plants

what other laws do cops not really enforce? Best answer:

Answer by lemonadeyum
jaywalking

  1. trooper3316 says:

Parking violations (with the exception of handicapped parking) are usually a pretty low priority unless a complaint is received.

Officer discretion plays a big part in enforcement, so your answers could vary quite a bit.

  2. Jordan says:

really depends on the officer some are more strict then others
    Jaywalking
    speeding
    parking vilotion
