New Fancy Dress Trends For Halloween 2011
Newbury, Berkshire (PRWEB UK) 26 October 2011
This Halloween so far seems to be the year of the skeleton costume for Jokers’ Masquerade Fancy Dress. Looking at how many people searched for the keyword “skeleton” between the 1st of October and the 22nd on the Joke.co.uk website on an in house report it was discovered that over 8000 searches had been made, revealing the volume of interest in the boney characters this year was extremely high. Comparing this to 2010′s most popular Halloween search query, “zombie” in the same time period last year it was clear to see it received significantly less searches than the skeletons received in 2011. Searches for “zombie” are high again in 2011 but trail behind “skeleton” by nearly 2000 searches.
The reason for the sudden rush to the skeleton costume range is similar to last years zombie takeover, there are some fantastic new skeleton costumes that everyone wants to get their hands on. Gone are the days of just a black suit with some bone shaped white stickers stuck on to it. Now there is a great range of skeleton costumes including some very cheeky and funny outfits that are sure to appeal to students. The Jokers’ Masquerade Fancy Dress Skeleton World Record may also have played a part, giving the skeleton costumes fantastic coverage all over the internet.
2011 also sees the arrival of some new Halloween costumes that have proved to be extremely popular. The Sexy Miss Scissorhands costume has been one of the most sought after costumes for women this Halloween. It is easy to see why this costume is such a hit as it ticks all the boxes for many women looking for a Halloween costume. It seems the majority of people are sticking to the Halloween theme of dressing scary this year but not everyone wants to look unsightly on a night out. The Sexy Miss Scissorhands Costume is a great mix of a sexy dress and a dark Halloween costume.
The Clockwork Orange costume has also been a popular Halloween costume for 2011, particularly for the men. The distinctive costume is easily recognised by anyone that has seen the scary, psychological film.
Not everything has seen an increase in sales however, 2010 saw huge sales of Ghostbuster costumes, Saw costumes and Leatherface costumes, but 2011 is a different story for these particular lines and has seen a decrease in interest and sales. Perhaps because once again the Halloween costume range at Jokers’ Masquerade Fancy Dress has grown this year, giving the customers even more of a choice.
Jokers’ Masquerade added a new element to Halloween costumes this year too with the introduction of colour contact lenses. A huge collection of coloured contact lenses was added to the Joke.co.uk website just in time for Halloween and sales have rocketed as people realise what a difference a pair of contact lenses can make to a fancy dress costume. With over 150 different designs there is a pair of contact lenses to enhance any costume on the website but being the spookiest time of the year it is the zombie and blood spat contact lenses that are leading the bunch.
2011 is the year of the skeleton Halloween costume but expect to see a lot of people out on the Halloween weekend with mesmerising or terrifying eyes as the Halloween contact lenses are certainly the accessory of the year and can make any costume stand out from the crowd.
