Question by : What is the Canada’s policy on those with a “Felony” isnt it that 5 years have to have passed?
In reference to US Citizens with valid US Passports entering Canada, by plane or car (or bus.) I saw on a site once that its “5 years.” So, if someone had a conviction for something like “gun possession” from a long time ago, then got a passport. What is the deal with getting into Canada, if you had a valid passport?

I have been arrested and spent the night in jail, but When I went to court it was thrown out! Now I wanna apply for a FOID card and it ask “Have you ever been convicted of a felony?” Should I pick yes or no?
Answer by John J You have not been convicted of anything. Arrest is entirely different than a conviction.
